Chris Bohjalian

Chris Bohjalian, born in White Plains, New York, is best known for Midwives, a book that was a Oprah Book Club Selection, and a Publisher's Weekly Best Book. Bohjalian attended Amherst College. He has written for many magazines and writes a weekly column for Burlington Free Press-the source for his most recent publication, the collection of essays called Idyll Banter.

Two of his books, Midwives and Past the Bleachers were made into movies and two other of his books are currently being discussed for development as either a movie or television feature.
