Sharyn McCrumb

Sharyn McCrumb photo from .govSharyn McCrumb may be a genre writer, but she's found a place to wander in the genre that is all hers. Her off-beat mysteries have wandered into several different settings with her Appalachia mysteries being among the most renowned.

A two-time Agatha award winner, McCrumb was born in 1948. Her great-grandfathers were preachers in the Smokey Mountains and bequeathed a love of the region to her. She received degrees from both the University of North Carolina and Virginia Tech. She now lives on 80 acres in Virginia.
