British Fantasy Awards

Each year, the British Fantasy Society recognizes the best in fantasy and horror novels, short stories, anthologies, collections, publishing houses, and artists. These recognitions are selected through a ballot from their members after nominations are collected throughout the year.

Several of the recognitions are given special names. The best novel of the year is called the August Derleth Award. The Special Award is called the Karl Edward Wagner Award, and the most promising newcomer is called the Icarus Award.
